SOOOOOOOOO good to know that you have a new home and a new life in SLC. I am sure you landed in a wonderful and supportive community and are enjoying your new digs so near your children. Life is good, indeed! Seek and ye shall find: whatever you expect is what you’ll receive- positive or negative.
What a good podcast! I thoroughly enjoy your insights into the Mormon way of life. I am frequently puzzled by the Mormon way of life and you seem to unravel the mysteries to me. Thanks so much. Your content is like finding a hundred-dollar bill among the leaves I am raking. So worth whatever time I invest into listening to you.
I haven’t been greatly injured by the dogs/swine, but I have to admit that many lifelong LDS have a hard time believing Jesus’ teachings. And when I clumsily reference His teachings, I am bitten and scratched by those same dogs/swine. I’ve had to learn to keep my insights to myself, in order to keep peace in the extended family.
By the way, Shawshank is one of those DVDs which survived the great purge of videos at my house. Too violent for frequent viewing, but such a profound glimpse into institutional thinking.
Also I recall a general conf. where Dieter gave an uplifting talk about what a glorious time to live. And then shortly thereafter Pres Monson gave the “we live in the most wicked time of all history” talk. Thank God for Dieter!
Well, I’ve rambled on far too long, but you must know that your sparse and rare podcasts are truly pearls.
